Happy New Year & Exciting News!

Welcome to 2025! There’s much to look forward to in terms of goals for J.P. Burten: two book releases, biweekly emails, and entering the final frontier: audiobooks. This, I hope, is what you can expect in 2025.

New Book Coming February 1

My new novella Black Hornet is out in a month! This prequel to my first novel Liberator introduces Sam Conagher: mysterious, outside the law, working for justice, mercy, eclectic coffee blends, and bringing young men to Jesus. 

Black Hornet will be released for free on Kindle and for a low, undetermined price in print on February 1.

Audiobooks

Audiobooks now outsell ebooks, and I see an opportunity. I’ve been on the radio on and off for twenty years, have produced dozens of radio programs, and currently produce The After Thoughts Show podcast for Canyon Ridge Baptist Church. I have the tech, and I have a voice. So for better or worse, I’m recording audiobooks. 

A Once-a-day Devotional to Kick Off 2025

I’m starting with Abide in Christ by Andrew Murray, which you can purchase from Burten Books here. Believe it or not, this is my bestselling book.

It’ll start as a podcast. Once I’m done recording, I’ll release the audiobook complete.
