Why Widdle Bear?
In two weeks, my wife and I are releasing books on the same day, and I wanted to take a second to share how hers, Widdle Bear Wants a Dino!, came about.
It’s a Mother’s Day present.
Kristen had written this fun children’s story while we were dating. In fact, she’s written several adventures of Brucie Bear, a selfish bear who causes trouble and never seems to learn his lesson.
I’d always wanted to get her book in print; the trouble had always been finding an illustrator.
As time went on, the technology finally caught up with her dream. Generative AI allowed for illustrations that are consistent in style. Between my AI of choice, Midjourney, and my way-too-many-years’ experience in graphic design, there was finally an opportunity back in March to make it happen.
Our kids are six and four years old. She now gets to read her own book to them, and that makes me happy.
Widdle Bear Wants a Dino! comes out August 8. If all goes well, pre-orders for autographed copies will be available next week.
